Program Director – Blue Door

Thrive’s Blue Door Program specifically supports individuals who are engaged in the sex trade and would like support to leave or exit. Blue Door embodies the principles of harm reduction, self determination, and person centred care. Blue Door offers a continuum of supports and connections for people including intensive case management, individual and group counseling, employment & education services, lifeskill development, crisis interventions, and system navigation.

As the Program Director for Blue Door, you are responsible for the day to day management of the Program. This includes providing support and supervision to the staff team including clinical supervision, ensuring the program is adhering to organizational policies & protocols, monitoring program implementation progress & budgets, overseeing evaluation activities, completing reports and documentation as required by the funder, liaising with key stakeholders.

You have a strong background in program development and staff supervision. You have worked in community based organizations, and have extensive knowledge and experience working with complex populations. You are comfortable leading teams within chaotic environments and have a proven track record for getting things done.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements Competencies Required
  • University degree in the field of social work, mental health, counselling, leadership, or other relevant field of study
  • 5 years’ experience working with populations with complex needs. Specific experience with persons who have experienced sexual exploitation or sex work is an asset;
  • 3 years supervisory and program development experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of resources available to the target population;
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills;
  • Skilled in negotiation and relationship building
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Compensation & Benefits: Starting salary for this position is $70 000.00 plus an excellent benefits package
