About the NJTT Toolkit

The Not Just the Tip Toolkit (NJTT) is a resource that gives educators the support they need to strengthen their skills to teach comprehensive sexual health education by responding to the barriers educators experience in undertaking this work.

This toolkit includes five modules that allow educators to engage in: introspection into their positionality and roles as educators; critical thinking about the field of sexual health education; and skill-building in some neglected areas and approaches to sexual health education.

About the NJTT project

The Not Just the Tip Project is a multi-year project that seeks to provide guidance and knowledge for sexual health educators to develop the skills and confidence they need to teach about sexuality and sexual health in a way that is intersectional, inclusive, and inspiring.

Guided by three expert advisory councils, NJTT is a collaborative effort between the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD), Wisdom2Action, and Dr. Nadine Thornhill. This project has been made possible through generous support from Health Canada and the Government of Canada.

The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity is Canada’s 2SLGBTQIA+ youth organization. Our mission is to build a future without discrimination for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and communities. We work with schools and youth to teach comprehensive sex education, and ensure that queer and trans youth don’t feel alone. Together we seek to influence those in power to ensure queer and trans youth who face barriers to safety and respect, including violence and discrimination, have a say in the critical decisions that affect them and their communities. That’s why we offer programming, resources, and advocacy to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
