Mandate: SHOP exists to advocate for the human rights of sex workers. SHOP knows that there are many different lived experiences in sex work as there are sex workers. SHOP firmly believes that sex workers are experts of their own lives, and everything they do is rooted in that philosophy. SHOP believes in:

  • The value of sex workers and their self determination
  • The power of harm reduction
  • The pursuit of social justice

Target Population: SHOP serves all women (cisgender and transgender) and marginalized genders for whom sex work is an occupation to be connected and safe while working in the sex trade, for people wishing to make changes, as well as people who are in the industry not by choice. SHOP supports everyone who identifies as a current or former sex worker or with lived experience in the sex trade, regardless of industry experience–this means that they are here for dancers, street level workers, in and out call workers, web cam workers, phone workers, independent escorts, those who work in massage parlors, and more.
