Daffodil Place is a 24 room facility operated by the Canadian Cancer Society-Newfoundland and Labrador Division to provide a place to stay for cancer patients and caregivers who must travel to St. John’s to receive cancer treatments.

Target Population:

To stay at Daffodil Place, potential guests must live a minimum of 50 kilometres outside of St. John’s and be undergoing active cancer treatment. This includes radiation therapy, chemotherapy, specialists appointments related to cancer (dentistry, dermatology), surgery related to cancer, follow-up appointments with oncologists, and diagnostic appointments.

Highlight of Programs / Services Offered:

  • There are 24 guest rooms available, each with a private bathroom, a small refrigerator, and other amenities.
  • Guests of Daffodil Place are charged a nightly fee of $30.00 for a single person, with an additional $20.00 per person accompanying the first. Meals are included. No person will be refused services for financial reasons.
  • Transportation to and from medical appointments is available if necessary, as long as at least 48 hours’ notice is provided.
  • Additional services include emotional support meetings; information about various types of cancer, including treatments and prevention methods; recreation and practical support items.
